The city of Salisbury has approxiimately 130 beats or reporting areas. New “beats” are added as land is annexed into the city. Beats vary considerably in size.
“Part One” crimes are selected offenses police agencies must report to the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reporting Program. The offenses included are the violent crimes of murder and non-negligent manslaughter,
forcible rape, robbery and aggravated assault and the property crimes of burglary, larceny-theft, motor vehicle theft and arson.
