Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is a Call for Service?

A call for service is an event occurring in or near the City of Salisbury to which one or more Salisbury Police employees must respond to evaluate or take action, or an event that comes to the attention of police or is initiated by police that requires formal documentation (an offense report, supplemental report or accident report)  Examples include a citizen reporting a burglary, a citizen reporting a traffic accident, a citizen reporting an alarm going off, officers finding a stolen vehicle, a detective following up on an investigation, an officer making an arrest, a citizen reporting a neighbor problem or suspicious activity. All calls for service are assigned a unique incident number. Upon investigation, some calls for service are called crimes. Not all police contacts with the public are calls for service, and not all calls for service are crimes.

  • How can I obtain an accident report?

Call Salisbury Police Department Records @ 410-548-3143 (Mon- Fri 8am to 4 pm) and give them the incident number of your accident and they will check to see if the report has been turned in. If you don’t know the incident number, you can find it in the Daily Calls for Service on this website. Reports should be ready within 10 days after an accident.  If the report is ready, you can come in and pick it up at the Records window during office hours.  Reports cost $10 for the first page and $2.50 for each additional page.  Cash and checks are accepted. Reports will be not be faxed.

  • What do I need to bring to get fingerprinted?

Fingerprinting is done Mon- Fri 1-3 pm only.  You must have a picture ID, fingerprint cards and $5 cash or check.
